What Should I Bring To The Walk-In Clinic?
Legal Documents:
Bring any documents related to your case, including court filings, notices, and contracts.
Timeline of Events:
Create a timline of events around your matter to help explain your issue.
Questions and Concerns:
Prepare a list of questions you have about your legal issue, the legal process, or any concerns you have about the case.
Other Relevant Information:
Bring relevant documentation such as letters, emails, or bank statements.
What Can I Expect At The Walk-In Clinic?
- You will speak with an attorney for up to 30 minutes about your legal matter
- Our attorneys provide no-cost legal information and advice
- Our walk-in clinic attorneys will not represent you or take on your case
- Wait times to speak with an attorney can vary based on attendance and attorney availability
- The clinic operates from 5:00 – 7 PM and some clients will be seen near the second half of the clinic hours.
- Wait times vary – clients are not seen in order.
- The volunteer attorneys have different areas of expertise so each attorney cannot see every type of client or case.
What Types Of Cases Can I Receive Help For At The Walk-In Clinic?
Some of the cases VCLA can assist with:
- Family Law
- Landlord – Tenant / Eviction
- Bankruptcy / Debt Collection
- Contract Disputes
- Benefits (e.g. Social Security, Unemployment)
- Domestic Violence / Elder Abuse
- General Civil Issues
VCLA does not assist with criminal cases, civil rights violations or malpractice cases.
